Paid by Alexandria Ayala for Palm Beach County School Board

We did it!

These last few months have been incredible. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you to the voters for your support and vote.

I’m incredibly humbled by all of the support and encouragement I received throughout this campaign and the overwhelming confidence our community has in my ability to serve as our next District 2 School Board Member.

The results from the election are in. Together, we did it. With over 56% of the vote, I am beyond proud to announce that we have won the election without the need for a runoff in November.

On the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, when a large majority of women won the right to vote, we made history in District 2. I am proud to be able to say that I am the very first Hispanic woman elected to the Palm Beach County School Board.

So much hard work and dedication have led us to this point, and I want to express my sincerest gratitude to everyone who shared in this great success. Whether it was volunteers standing in the hot sun for hours waving signs at polling places, friends and family making thousands of calls to voters, those who liked, shared or commented on our social media posts, and especially my Mom, who has been my biggest fan my entire life, and my partner, Rob, who has been my rock, I could not have done any of this without you.

Throughout this process, a total of 43 local organizations and Elected Officials endorsed our campaign, as well as over 200 individual District 2 residents, and I thank each and every one of them for putting their name behind this campaign and for their full support. I look forward to continuing to collaborate with all of them to do what’s best for our District 2 schools. A special thank you to our Classroom Teachers Association for putting their trust and faith in me.

I appreciate my opponents for stepping up to run for office, as it is not an easy thing to do. I thank them for their willingness to serve this community in these challenging times.

From an early age, I was taught the value of service and education and was inspired to make a difference in my community. We are facing uncertain times, and our students, teachers and families need an advocate on the School Board that will look out for them and lead us forward with true collaboration and determination.

I won’t let you down, and I’m ready to get started.

As your newest School Board member, I plan to get to work immediately to tackle some of our District’s most pressing needs.

Again, thank you for your support and vote of confidence.

Now it's time to get to work.

Join me at 7:00pm tonight on Facebook Live to hear my thoughts on the election results.
